Will this project be physical or digital?
We plan to offer both physical and digital versions of the zine, alongside digital and physical merch.What merch items will there be?
We have heard your responses from the Interest Check and have a lot of goodies planned. In the meantime, you’ll all have to hold your breath to see!Which danmei will be included?
Like the seven seas, we are including seven series to be represented! They are: SVSSS, TGCF, MDZS, ERHA, DTBPF, MISVIL, and QJJ.Is the zine SFW or NSFW?
The main zine will be SFW, although we will include an optional NSFW add-on!Are ships allowed in this zine?
Any ship in the chosen danmei is allowed as long as it is not underage x adult.Will this project be for-profit?
This project is charity, meaning all profits will be donated to MarAlliance, a marine conservation nonprofit, but the cost will cover free copies for all contributors provided there are a sufficient number of orders.Can I apply to multiple positions?
Yes you can! However, you will only be accepted into one position at most (page artist, merch artist, writer, etc.)How do I apply?

Our current estimate is a minimum of 30 Artists, 7 Writers and 10 Merch Artists will be accepted for the zine (not including guest artist spots).Where is this project shipping from?
Shipping will take place from the USA. If your country can be shipped using USPS or UPS, it can be delivered to your country!

Applications
Our applications will be open from June 10th to June 25th!We require each of our applicants to submit examples of their work, regardless of the role that they are applying for. Please make sure to use work that best represents what you are capable of completing within the time frame listed under the “Schedule” tab.For Artists and Merch Artists you will be able to submit up to five (5) files to your application. For Writers we ask that you compile three (3) snippets between 1,500-2,000 words each into a single document. This way we are able to see not only the quality of your work, but how well you create a scene or a story within a word limit.Please read all of the questions and submission requirements carefully. If you do not meet all of the requirements with your examples, we will not be able to fully assess the strength of your application.Applications are due no later than 11:59pm EST, June 25th.Applications open June 10th, 2026.In order to apply, please select the link below that best fits the role that you are looking to apply for.
If you would like to apply for more than one role, like artist and merch artist or writer and artist, you will be required to fill out both applications. Turbulent Tides is a 2026-2027 ocean-themed danmei zine meant to embrace our love of fins and the sea! Our zine is a nonprofit zine, meaning that any proceeds for the zine after contributors receive copies (if possible) will be donated to a charity of our choice.Given our zine’s theming, we will be donating all proceeds to MarAlliance, an international nonprofit that supports marine wildlife conservation efforts.
